I haven't posted anywhere lately. Keeping up one blog is time consuming but multiple blogs is darn near impossible. I wonder if I should just make a podcast. The only issue is how many people are interested in the wide variety of things that I am interested in?

One day I'm reading about politics the next day I'm reading about the Boston Red Sox. Being a Sox fan might alienate NYY fans. Then again the one thing that unites baseball fans everywhere (other than baseball itself) is a hatred of NYY. (Ok, except for NYY fans) I wonder what the deal is with foreigners wearing NYY hats. The sad thing is that they think they are supporting the US but in reality they are supporting everything that is wrong with the US. I'm talking about the conception that all you need to do in order to solve a problem or win a championship is throw money at it. I won't say any more until the end of the season on this subject.

I haven't played WOW [World of Warcraft] in ages. *sigh* 40 hours of work + Graduate school + long distant marriage = no time for anything.

Opening Day

Even though this isn't my Red Sox blog I wanted to share some thoughts about the Red Sox. I think Red Sox Nation are the only people on the planet who get all excited about an 18 wheeler traveling down to Fort Myers. And a few of those get excited about a cheap re-enactment. Take a look at this if you will: Truck Day Re-enactment

Sweet Caroline *ba ba ba*
There is truly nothing like being in Fenway Park and singing that with 35,000 of your closest friends. *swoon*

Truck day is the most wonderful time of the year. Sure you dear reader and possible non-Red Sox fan fail to grasp the wondrousness that is Truck Day. You cannot approciate the joy and joyness. It means baseball season is just around the corner. It means the cold of winder will give way to the April showers and spring flowers of May. It means that you get to see the results of all the hot stove cooking of winter.

So what is my point? I got excited looking at people meowing grass to get ready for opening day tomorrow. Pictures of Fenway

I'm going to see Fenway but not for a Sox game but to see the Police! July 28th I will be in Fenway park! :-)

Today I watched the Hideo Nomo no hitter from April 4, 2001. It was funny seeing Manny without hair. It was also great seeing Trot there. I miss Trot. The next Red Sox classic was when Ortiz hit the walk off home run last year against Baltimore. (2005)

I'm working tomorrow but I'll be watching Gameday.

Social Masterbation

Chris Sligh has started a Q&A much like Schillings. Speaking of Curt Schilling, he is currently in the process of kicking ass and taking names.

I wonder if anyone reads my blog. I have 13 whole views of my profile. Ok, those are all me. Blah. If you are reading this please comment and just let me know that I'm not talking to the wall. Thanks!

Yesterday I was blown away by NIN's new album. Oddly it made me appreciate Half Past Forever's album that much more. I really do have an eclectic music collection.

I'm working on a 100 favorite songs in the spirit of Chris Sligh's 100 favorite songs. I include non-English language songs as well as classical. Chopin is the bomb. His music makes me wish I played piano.

Hey Roland, this song is for you. You'll be here in a few days. w00t

In a moment, love can pass you by
And in a moment, a heart can come alive

Every moment's getting better
Every moment brings me closer to you

Can I hold you till the morning light
Takes away the dead of night
And sunrise shines on you?
Can love take all these fears away
Till morning comes with brand new day?
It's love that pulls us through
In a moment.

In a moment love can tear you down
And in a moment a heart can come around

I feel you in my heart
I feel you in my soul
Oh, you make me whole
In a moment...

New and Improved

Look at me, I spent lots of time making the site appealing to no one else but me. Ha. This blog was the result of me wanting to post comment to Chris Sligh's blog. (If that really is Chris Sligh. I have my own theory on the whole subject.) So it was odd that I should blogg about Nine Inch Nail's new album "Year Zero" This is even odder since I need to be witting about international relations theory.

Yes it is painfully obvious that I need a break from the college life. I also need to put more of my hard earned $$ into getting rid of my student loans. I wonder if all of this study has been worth it.

I'm witting a whole lot about nothing these days. It is great that I'm writing but for the moment it is just a bit of social masturbation on my part. I barely read what I write.

I have not blogged about the Red Sox much. The reason is because of the fact that the games were on when I was working. Oh and update: Monday people are going to tell me of my misplaced faith in Tavarez. The Sox wasted a good start by Wakefield yesterday. In the 2006 season the Sox scored 6 runs in Wakefield's 11 losses. *sigh*

Happy Easter Everyone!

Year Zero by Nine Inch Nails

I heart Trent Reznor. For me his music is therapeutic. My life is great and sucks all at the same time. My life is an enigma rapped up in a puzzle. The good is that I have the job that I've been waiting and working towards for 20 years now. But the rest of my life pretty much sucks. I have a husband who is in Germany because he likes it there. I'm not a puppy and therefore I'm not following him to a country were I feel my isolation like a thorn in my side.

This is about the album Year Zero. I'm on the 4th cut of the song. It is currently available on the NIN website. I'm listening to the album on headphones because NIN's music is very layered. I want to hear everything there is to hear.

After listening to Half Past Forever's "Take a chance on something beautiful" I figure this is the yang to that ying. Chris Sligh is a happy Christian while Trent Reznor as definite issues with God and Religion. Odd thing is there are more references to God in NIN's album. So musically is Chris and Trent two sides of the same coin?

I can bet almost anything that both Chris and Trent fans would flame me for those comments.

Overall I really like this album. The song "The Greater Good" actually has harp in it as well as something that sounds like an out of tune music box. I love the contrast between the music and the drum beats. I consider Trent Reznor to be the Mozart of our time. It is the way he paints a song with so many different layers of sounds.

I really liked the song "Another Version of the Truth". I love it when Trent play piano. What I really like about his album is the mix of acoustic and electronic instruments. Yes, NIN is on the short list of albums I just buy because it's NIN but I am buying this album because it is great to listen to. This album is what my soul was craving. Thank-you Trent.
